It was great to see the 165 families that came to the Nearly
New Sale and grabbed a bargain on September 29th. We raised a massive £1,070 for the NCT, with
much more than that going to the 66 people who sold their pre-loved baby stuff
at the sale.
Having a card reader is proving very popular at the tills, it’s a
much more convenient way to pay, and it means if you see something extra that
you hadn’t bargained for you can still get it. One family came round 3 times to
the tills and had trouble fitting all their purchases into their estate car!
We’re looking into getting 2 card readers for the next sale to try to speed
things up, and reduce the time shoppers have to spend in the queue.
As ever we couldn’t run the sale without the help of all the
volunteers, so a big thank you to them.
Some are committee members, some are NCT members and some are neither.
One big advantage of helping out at the sale is you get to browse and buy
before even the NCT Members queue is let in. A lot of the biggest bargains
(toys especially) go before the sale is even open, worth considering for next
time!

The absolute best thing we bought as far as BB is concerned was his shiny red wellies. A bargain at just £1 (including a free peg!). He collects them from near the back door after breakfast each morning and hands them to me to let me know it's time to play outside. We bought the blue ones too - he can grow into those!
