this family event in the magical setting of Denny Abbey. Every child gets a
free chocolate egg! Sandra Barker will be at the museum demonstrating the
traditional skill of basket making – children will have the chance to make
something special!

Come and join us for the National Trust nationwide Egg and Spoon race.
An egg and spoon race with a difference. How about carrying your egg and spoon
over an obstacle course, or combine it with a 3-legged race...Races, crafts,
and even an Easter egg shy (like a coconut shy but without the coconuts). We'll
supply the eggs if you bring your best racing spoon. Fun for all the family!

Get out and about and explore the beautiful gardens and fascinating
Rotunda basement with our fun trails. They run every day of every school
holiday. Just pop into Porter's Lodge reception and ask for details.
The wonderful and abundant display of daffodils, Spring blossoms and
many other flowering plants is the lovely backdrop to our annual Easter Egg
Hunt. Children need to find 3 coloured bunnies in order to claim their
Chocolate Easter Egg. There are 3 hard-to-find golden bunnies which also win a
large golden Chocolate bunny. Tearooms will be open serving our own free-range
pork 'hot-dogs', hot soups, teas and cakes and there will be plant stalls
selling seasonal and rare plants.
IWM Duxford: Easter Holiday
Family Activities, 11.30am-3.30pm
Find out what life was like for children living in Britain during the
Second World War. See displays of toys that would have been played with and
loved by children in the 1940s. Have a go at some wartime games. Discover how
mum kept the family fed despite testing times under rationing. See a range of
wartime objects, including items found in a 1940s house, gas masks and an
evacuee’s suitcase. Discover life on the Forties home front this Easter. Airfix
Make and Paint takes place daily in the Conservation Hall in AirSpace from
11.30am to 3.30pm. Make an Airfix model, paint it in the creative colours of
your choice and take it home as a souvenir of your day at IWM Duxford. Airfix
Make and Paint is subject to availability.
Cambridge Folk Museum: ‘Doctor,
Doctor’ Activity Trail
Doctor, Doctor, I feel like a pair of curtains! Well pull yourself
together man and join us for Doctor’s rounds at the Museum! Visit your sick
patients in each room to solve funny riddles and discover mystery cures. Soon
you’ll be coughing with laughter – it is the best medicine!

What were toys like in the past? What did your grandparents, and their
grandparents, play with? Find out by investigating the collection of curious
playthings from the museum’s collection.
Then try to make simple ones yourself to enjoy and take home. Try making a
climbing man, an oscillating woodpecker, or another toy.

The Cromwells are going Green: from Mrs Cromwell’s vegetable & herb
gardens to the civil war eco warriors! Where did Mrs Cromwell’s unusual
ingredients come from, did she grow her own peppercorns and what can you find
in her Grand Salad? Can you identify some of the ingredients? Talk to our Civil
War soldier, dress up with our helmets and find out about war tactics or the
origins of their colourful uniforms.

Our free drop-in sessions for children of all ages, run on the Tuesday

Granny’s Big Top Tale, 2pm
For families looking for a fun filled afternoon in the Easter holidays,
‘Granny's Big Top Tale’ at Littleport Leisure Centre could be just the ticket.
When Granny Flo and little Ruby win golden tickets to go to the circus,
anything can happen and probably will! They meet clowns, acrobats and the
world's greatest strongman (who isn't very strong). With dance, songs, clowning and chaos, this is
a hilarious show for all the family.
Easter Fun At The Horsefair Shopping Centre (Wisbech), 10.00am-2.00pm
Free activities on the day include, face painting, balloon modelling, a
fairground ride and the chance for youngsters to test their agility and climb
the famous Spider Mountain. There will be two performances of Mr Rainbow’s
Magical Easter Show featuring Rodney Rabbit and Hetty the Hen at 11.00am and 1.00pm.
For little Eggs-plorers there will be small prizes on offer for every child
that correctly counts the number of eggs in the shop windows.

Recycling will be brought to life at a series of fun and creative
family activity sessions at AmeyCespa’s Waterbeach waste management park during
the Easter holidays. Staff at the Education Centre are holding free activity
days on Monday 8 April, Tuesday 9 April and Friday 12 April. The sessions will
include hands-on, practical activities using recyclable packaging and a range
of other reusable materials, as well as a chance to see parts of the site in
operation. The activities are particularly aimed at children aged between six
and 12 years old, but all children over the age of six are welcome. All

Welney WWT: Family Pond Dipping, 9.30am-5.00pm
Try your hand at pond-dipping with all the equipment provided to help
you make magical discoveries. Spend a
day out exploring the reserve with our ‘Spring is in the air’ discovery trail
and make sure you don't miss a thing with our Spring activity clipboards). Then watch hares boxing from the wigeon cafe
over a bite to eat at lunchtime.
It’s Spot's Birthday, it’s party time – and you're invited! All Spot's
friends will be here; Steve the Monkey, Helen the Hippo and Tom the Crocodile
plus Spot's mum and dad, Sally and Sam. Special guest Marco the Rabbit Magician
will be there too, ensuring there's never a dull moment. Join in the fun –
music and songs, games and stories – theatrical magic to capture everyone's
imagination.
Stretham Treasure Hunt, 2pm
